This program offers a desert adventure focused around rock climbing.
A classic Mojave desert hike leads to the rim of an intimate canyon, where a 60 foot free hanging rappel is our means of access. We demonstrate and instruct each step of the way and before long you find yourself walking down the face of a cliff until your feet cut away and you spiral down like a spider on a thread.
A short spirited hike leads to the other side of the canyon where a rocky scramble leads to the second rappel, and the beginning of the rock climbing instruction.
Professional climbing instructors will demonstrate the art and technique of climbing up a cliff face, and how to use the rock climbing shoes that are provided. Vertical faces, small edges, chiseled corners, steep slabs and deep pockets provide the challenges to overcome. You will learn both the climbing techniques, and experience the transcendence of focused attention as you ascend to the top of 4 to 6 climbing routes. Stepping back from a route that you just completed, it is impossible not to feel a surge of appreciation at the result of your efforts.
Once your fingertips have had enough, we hike to the top of the longest zip line we offer. 750 feet long and over 100 feet above the canyon floor, this ride is both the easiest way across the canyon as well as an experience not soon forgotten
