3/4 Day Paragon Canyon

This adventure is likely the best first time canyoneering experience in the entire region.

Paragon Canyon is a remote / beautiful / intimate canyon that is comprised of so many twists and turns that we have lost track. 8 rappels up to 60 feet high are perfect for the first time rappeller, and still exciting for the experienced. The highlight of this canyon must be the natural bridge in the middle of the big room, which is the most amazing and photogenic feature of any canyon that we offer.

13 miles of sand road provide a significant filter, and make this hard to access canyon a good bet for a day of solitude, yet the access to the start of the slot is a surprisingly casual stroll down the beautiful upper canyon, which alternates between open wash, and twisted slots for a mile.

Once inside the technical section of the canyon,  it feels like being in a small intestine for all the twisting and turning, with the rappels coming at ever higher frequency as the canyon gets steeper and the pour-offs bigger.

Finally at the final rappel the canyon opens up into a lush and wet meadow with towering cottonwood trees and a casual stroll to the Parunuweap river, a gourmet lunch and the return hike to the vehicle.

The unique logistics of the canyon allow us to provide a single guide for up to 4 guests, and to reduce the price in the process.
