Natural Food Stores
For those interested in more-natural food choices it can be difficult to find what you are looking for in a regular market. Whether you are seeking organic and non-GMO produce, snacks without preservatives, vitamins without food coloring, or natural deodorants and toothpaste, it can be found in Saint George and the surrounding areas. As the demand for such products increases, businesses answer the call. Big stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods have not opened up in Washington County yet. perhaps the demand for such a store may not be large enough for them in our area, buy you can still find smaller health food markets in Saint George. Dixie Nutrition has provided us with a small selection of produce, snacks, vitamins and much more for decades, but there are at least two more sources in town now.

Dixie Nutrition
The oldest health food store in town, Dixie Nutrition, now has four locations. This local business chain has a small selection of produce, and a wide variety of packaged snacks, many of which are packaged under the store’s brand name. They have a large selection of grains, oatmeal and cereals, nuts, yeast and much more. They have a nut grinder where you can buy freshly-ground almond butter or peanut butter, and they are well-known for their frozen yogurt. Beyond food, they even have a large amount of vitamins, food supplements, and hygiene products including aluminum-free deodorant, fluoride-free toothpastes and natural soaps and shampoos.

Natural Grocers:
Natural Grocers, compared to Dixie Nutrition, is larger overall and has a wider selection. This store has a larger amount of produce, but the selection is still rather limited. They also have several aisles of packaged snacks, frozen foods, packaged grains, cereals and pastas. Their selection of vitamins and dietary supplements is rather large as well. They have one location on the east side of town in the city of Washington.
