Southwestern Utah is the epicenter of slot canyoneering in the United States. No where else offers the variety of narrow defiles that define Zion National park, and the Colorado Plateau. This program will give you the tools to begin to explore the fascinating world of technical canyoneering.
The focus of this program is to provide a solid foundation of technical skills on which to build your Canyoneering experience.
As with all of our courses of instruction we endeavor to create safe, and competent students, who are an asset as members of the outdoor community.

Active paced program with mild elevation gains for guests with greater endurance.
Strength: ability to climb a 12 foot ladder leaning against a house
Aerobic: ability to walk up 5 flights of stairs, without stopping
Balance: ability to stand on one foot for 10 seconds with eyes closed
The course covers:
Anchor systems – Natural and man made
Rappelling techniques and common situations
Rope retrieval procedures
Basic Climbing techniques
Canyon travel considerations
Flash flood awareness
What to Bring:
-2 liters of water
-Day pack or hydration pack
-Hat, suncscreen, and sunglasses
-Season appropriate clothing
-Appropriate footwear (see footwear page)
6-9 people: $145 per person

100% of your deposit is refundable if we receive a cancellation notice (by email only) 31 days or more prior to your scheduled program date.
30 days before your scheduled program 25% of the total program fee will be charged to the credit card that you provide. This deposit is non refundable for any cancellation after this point.
Cancellations of the program with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the program fee.
No shows will be charged 100% of the program fee.
