Just 90 minutes from the frying pan of St. George the rock climbing areas of Brian Head require a sweatshirt on mornings in July.

The Rock Climbing on the Markagunt Plateau has been an open secret to southwestern Utah locals for decades.  In this time we have seen the development of a wide range of routes suitable for any aptitudes, and Rappels that will definitely get your attention.

The drive up is a lesson in both natural history and geology as the sage brush turns to oaks, then pines, then spruce with open meadows of paintbrush, and lupine.  As for the drive back down we hope you are tired enough to sleep through most of it.

for guests with greater endurance.
Strength: ability to hang from a pull up bar for 10 seconds
Aerobic:  ability to run up flights of stairs, without stopping
Balance: ability to stand on one foot for 10 seconds and touch alternate fingers to your nose
