This isolated piece of red and white swirled sandstone in the midst of the Great Basin Desert offers a wide variety of backcountry desert experiences.
From ancient lava flows to narrow ridges and isolated slick rock bowls that harbor brooding silences. The scenery back here is intense, the sense of remoteness extreme, and the landscapes continually inspire reflection.
The hike will gain 1,500 feet in the first half as we attain a beautiful ridge line and the top of a peak. The looping descent traverses canyons, bowls, and drainages, which offer sweeping views of the desert and mountain ranges which surround this beautiful and inspiring area.

Time Required: 4-5 hours
Prerequisites: Scrambling
Ages: 10-80

Fitness Level: 3
Moderate level program with significant elevation gains for guests with average level of fitness and endurance.
Strength: ability to hang from a pull up bar for 10 seconds
Aerobic: ability to run up 3 flights of stairs
Balance: ability to stand on one foot for 10 seconds,  touch alternate fingers to your nose

Reservation/Cancellation Policy: 
2 weeks before the scheduled program date we will call to obtain a credit card number to hold the reservation.  We do not charge a deposit to this card however any cancellations after this point (for any reason) will be charged 50% of the total program fee.

Cancellations of the program with less than 24 hours notice will be charged 100% of the program fee.

No shows will be charged 100% of the program fee.

If we need to cancel the program for any reason, there is no fee.
